Intellitix does not manufacture RFID-enabled wristbands. We work with many wristband providers and would be happy to refer you to one of our partners.

Our Cashless Payment system operates in a similar manner to pre-paid cards, whereby guests pre-purchase digital event credit to load onto an RFID-enabled device (such as a wristband, card or lanyard). The RFID device acts as a key to access a guest’s unique Cashless account to pay for food, drinks and merchandise at the event without the direct use of cash or credit cards at vendor locations. Cashless Payment technology dramatically reduces wait times, not having to fumble for cash or wait for credit card transactions to process.
To make a purchase, guests tap their RFID device on a RFID reader located at each vendor stand to open a transaction. The order is then placed with the vendor staff. To confirm and close the transaction, guests are required to use the same wristband to tap a second time. The order amount will automatically be deducted from the guest’s account balance and recorded digitally in real-time in the system.
For more information, visit the Cashless Payment page.
A ‘fully cashless’ event or festival means the only form of payment accepted on-site is using a Cashless Payment system to make direct purchases. No cash, debit card or credit card is accepted at vendor locations.
Experiential solutions take sponsored brand activations to the next level with RFID technology and social media integration. Experiential enhances the connection between brands and target audiences through meaningful and innovative sponsorship initiatives pre-, during and post-event.
Guests create an online profile through the event’s online registration website, input their unique ID code found on their RFID device (such as a wristband, card, or lanyard) and connect their social media accounts. On-site at the event, guests interact with sponsors and engage in social media activity by scanning their RFID device to connect their profile with the brand activation solution.
RFID brand activations can be integrated with Facebook, Twitter, and email communications.
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It is a generic term used to describe a system that transmits the identity (in the form of a unique serial number) of an object or person using radio waves. RFID is designed to enable readers to capture data on tags and transmit it to a computer system without the need for physical contact.
The tag’s information is stored electronically and includes a small RF transmitter and receiver. An RFID reader transmits an encoded radio signal to identify the tag. The tag receives the message and responds with its identification information. The read time is typically less than 100 milliseconds.
RFID tags can be embedded into a variety of objects including wristbands, cards, lanyards, stickers, key rings, arm bands, and more.
Our Access Control solution validates (or invalidates) entry into unlimited event areas for multiple tiers of credential rights and pass types under one single system. This includes access rights for event attendees (e.g. general admission, VIP, weekend pass, single-day pass, etc.), camping areas, media and press, guest speakers, sponsors, suppliers, exhibitors, vendors, artists, event staff, volunteers and more.
When an RFID wristband, card or lanyard is scanned against an Access Control portal or handheld device, the system validates the credential against the event database to ensure the individual entering the venue or event zone has a valid right of admission and has not previously entered the area (with the exception of events that allow for re-entry using exit scans as well).
For more information, visit the Access Control page.
RFID is not used to monitor or track individuals. The RFID tags that Intellitix use at live events are passive and have a short read range. Consequently, unless the patron actively places their wristband close to a reader (to enter or exit an access point, make a cashless transaction at a vendor location, or take part in a sponsored brand activation like a photo booth or contest) their location is unknown.
As each of our event partners are unique and may have policies specific to their event, please direct all guest inquiries and feedback to the event’s customer support line found on their website.
