What’s the difference between RFID and barcode technology?

Barcodes only have a read capability and do not have the ability to write information on the barcodes. The use of barcode technology in a festival environment is limited as a result. In contract, RFID technology has the ability to read, write, and modify information stored in the RFID tag and is used for sophisticated event applications including Access Control, Cashless Payments, Brand Amplification and Big Data capture.

Barcodes are easier to replicate and are susceptible to damage more easily with lower security. RFID tags have higher security with data encryption and can be deactivated and replaced if lost or damaged.
