London Gets a ‘Taste’ of Cashless Technology

Taste of London

From succulent steak to decadent desserts, thousands of visitors sampled their way across Taste of London Winter, paying for the finest food and drinks with a simple tap of an RFID-enabled ‘Taste’ card.

Taste of London (20-23 November 2014) was the first UK food festival to join the cashless revolution, following the hugely success deployment of Intellitix’s cashless payment solution at the inaugural Taste of Toronto in July.

Taste of LondonFood fanatics used their Taste Cards to gain access to the event and pre-loaded them with ‘Crowns’ – Taste’s official currency – using a simple online registration process. Alternatively, they could add funds during the event itself using numerous top up stations located throughout the venue.

Taste of LondonHeld at London’s historic Tobacco Dock, Taste of London brought together the city’s hottest restaurants, chefs and suppliers and celebrated festive culinary delights and winter comfort food.

Taste of LondonVisitors were kept busy with live demonstrations, interactive masterclasses, cheese, wine and chocolate tastings and the chance to try – and buy – the finest local, national and international ingredients, products and dishes.

Taste of LondonTaste of London Winter was Intellitix’s fourth food and wine event this year alone, and proves once again the positive impact that cashless payments can have on customer, vendor and organizer experience. It reduces those queuing times to a minimum – giving even more time to sample all of those delicious dishes!
