Electric Zoo Festival Embraces RFID Technology

Electric Zoo

Electric Zoo festival in NYC will be embracing technology with a vengeance when its gates open later this month, with attendees donning RFID wristbands that not only allow them to access all areas of the site, but also public transport, thanks to ferry and bus passes that are preloaded onto each wristbands’ chip.

It’s the third year that Intellitix has supplied the 30 Aug-1 September event with full RFID access control, and the second North American event (following Squamish Festival in August) to embrace Intellitix’s very own cashless payment system, Intellipay.

The incredible speed with which they can enter, exit and ambulate the festival site; and the cashless payment system that allows them to purchase goods and top up their wristbands, almost instantly, means Electric Zoo-goers will have to keep themselves busy flinging shapes to the likes of Avicii, Knife Party, David Guetta, Bassnectar, Diplo and Sebastian Ingrosso, at Randall’s Island Park, located on East River between Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx.
