Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience Goes Cashless with Intellitix

Indio, CA: The Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience will be the first Beer, Wine and Music Festival in the United States to implement IntelliPay, the Cashless payment system developed by Intellitix. The IntelliPay system will be showcased at The Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Intellitix deployed its RFID Access Control system at the same site for Coachella in 2011.

How does the Cashless system work?

The Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience will issue RFID Bracelets (Radio Frequency IDentification Bracelets) to all attendees. RFID tags are embedded into the RWB Experience Bracelet and used to capture, store and retrieve data stored in the event database. First used by Intellitix clients such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Land and Sasquatch, the RFID Bracelets eliminate the need for a paper ticket or standard wristband while eradicating fraud and duplication. When coupled with IntelliPay, the RFID Bracelet becomes the only method of payment used to purchase food, beverages and any type of merchandise once inside of the event.  Credit can be purchased and loaded onto the RFID Bracelet online, prior getting to the event site or on the event site using a smartphone or at dedicated booths around the site. With IntelliPay Cashless terminals at every food, bar and merchant point, patrons are able to simply and quickly transact around the site, and keep track of their spending online.

While the RFID tags/Bracelets are not new to festivals and live events, the IntelliPay Cashless Payment System is.  IntelliPay, premiered at Harley-Davidson’s Open Road Festival in June 2013 and was subsequently deployed at six other events around the world last summer including Rock in Rio in Brazil, Electric Zoo in New York City and Slottsfjell in Norway. Promoters recorded a minimum of a 15% increase in spend per head, while many operational efficiencies were identified and the overall patron experience was brought to a much higher level. Taking all the possible steps for making sure patrons are having a wonderful time while enjoying amazing wines, beers and typical californian atmosphere, the Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience is proud to make this technology part of this exquisite rapidly growing one-day community it creates year after year!

Rhythm, Wine & Brews Event Information

Empire Music Ventures is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience on Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at the Empire Polo Club. Live music will set the tone as guests enjoy an extraordinary afternoon of wine and beer tasting at one of the most beautiful venues in Coachella Valley, the Empire Polo Club. Attendees will enjoy wine and beer tasting from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. As the tasting winds down, the music heats up with an evening of rhythm & blues followed by the upbeat sounds of big band swing from 6:00 to 11:30 PM.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will headline the Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience along with American blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy and R&B singer Aaron Neville. Other bands that will play during the wine and beer tasting include: Strangers You Know, Caxton, Petty Cash and Penny Unniversity.
