DECEMBER 2012 Intellitix launches the ‘MiniPortal’: low cost, portable units driving down the cost of RFID environments Montreal: Intellitix has today launched its second generation of access control entrance devices, the MiniPortal. Portable and quick to deploy, the units are pre-configurable, allowing event organizers to adopt and quickly deploy a ‘plug and play’ RFID access control system. Complimenting Intellitix’s signature full-scale entrance portals – which remain the preferred solution for high volume, large scale entrances – the MiniPortal brings game-changing RFID solutions to a wider variety of live events. The units offer the same fast RFID chip reading speeds, along with LED and sound indicators, but can be powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) or USB, making them simple and fast to use. “By being mounted into frames of any shape or size, the MiniPortal offers event organizers a more customized and economical RFID access control system,” says Intellitix head Serge Grimaux. “This past festival season has again proved the Intellitix access control system to be the most advanced and secure in the live event industry. The MiniPortal brings the benefits of the RFID environment – which also includes cashless payment systems and social media integration – one step closer for all.” Since 2011, Intellitix has activated over 2.5million RFID chips at live events in North America, Europe and the Middle East. The company has offices in Montreal, Denver and London, and clients include AEG, Live Nation, Goldenvoice, Superfly, Kilimanjaro and C3 Presents, with festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Festival d’Été de Québec and Austin City Limits.]]>
