Intellitix and Metapay strike deal to increase cashless services at festivals

As published by: Tim Ingham, Music Week (2012-03-14)RFID solutions company Intellitix has formed a strategic alliance with cashless payment specialist Metapay with an aim to increase cashless services at festivals this year.Last year, Hungarian-based Metapay serviced 4 million transactions at festivals while Intellitix activated more than 1 million Radio Frequency ID wristbands at the majority of North American festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits.“The response to our cashless payment systems has been so positive that this strategic alliance will allow us to more comprehensively service our existing and prospective clients, many of whom are looking to trial or implement these revenue-generating solutions shortly,” said Intellitix head Serge Grimaux.“Cashless payment systems, which bring a wealth of benefits to event organisers, are one of the game-changing environments made possible via RFID, and working closely together will allow us to realise this new reality even faster.”Metapay CEO Gabor Levai added: “As the global leader of cashless payment services in the live event world, we are happy to start cooperation with Intellitix, the global leader of access control.“In the digital world, the services we provide and the platforms we are using are based on the same standards worldwide, which makes our knowledge and experience globally valuable.“We are happy to share our services with the rest of the world,” he added.]]>
