TomorrowWorld festival went 100% fully cashless for the first time, becoming Intellitix’s largest ever deployment with 160,000 attendees using the company’s RFID solutions as the sole payment method, 26-28 September 2014. Widely cited as the world’s largest dance music festival, TomorrowWorld transformed Atlanta’s Chattahoochee Hills for the second year, becoming home to a fantasy world of music and madness, with headline performances from Tiësto, Skrillex, David Guetta, Kaskade, and Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike among many others. Working with ID&T and its parent company SFX Entertainment, Intellitix installed its IntelliPay system, which incorporated 340 point of sale sets and 70 top up stations. The beautifully-designed bracelets acted as visitors’ personal tickets to this dream-like world and were the sole method of access control and payment across the entire festival site. More than 500,000 Cashless transactions were completed in total, showcasing the enormous impact going Cashless can have on the speed and efficiency of transactions. A refund procedure has already started, allowing patrons to receive unspent funds. “We were thrilled at how seamlessly the Cashless system worked. It allowed for faster transactions and let everyone spend more time enjoying TomorrowWorld,” commented Ritty van Straalen, Chief Operating Officer of SFX Entertainment. TomorrowWorld also introduced mandatory registration, meaning every guest had to register their bracelet ahead of the event or on-site at a Cashless kiosk. Pre-event top ups were encouraged, with five free ‘Tokens’ – the special TomorrowWorld currency – given as an incentive for every $100 in Tokens purchased. For Intellitix – whose RFID solutions are now a familiar sight at some of the world’s biggest festivals and events – this marked the largest project since it was established just three years ago and since it started rolling out its Cashless solution 15 months ago. Serge Grimaux, Intellitix CEO, comments: “This was our largest deployment of RFID to date and ran simultaneously with an additional 100,000 RFID wristbands being deployed on the other side of the world at The Ryder Cup in Scotland. Another great international weekend for us! “TomorrowWorld builds on the fantastic relationship we’ve formed with ID&T for the last three years and with SFX since the beginning of the year, providing RFID solutions at MysteryLand and Electric Zoo in North America and TomorrowLand in Belgium. “It was a huge success – and if the one of the world’s largest dance music festival can go Cashless – we have truly entered the future. The music festival and live event horizon will never be the same. Press release October 2014 We’re excited to be at the forefront of this Cashless revolution, working with some of the best events the entertainment world has to offer.”]]>
