Our Statement on the Las Vegas Tragedy

Friends, Colleagues and Extended Family,

The global event community was rocked this week by the terrible tragedy that took place in Las Vegas late Sunday evening.  As active members of the community, we were shocked that such a familiar place of celebration could be the scene of such pain, and we offer our deepest condolences to those affected by this tragedy.

At this time, it is our shared duty as a community to ensure that fear doesn’t dishearten our audience, or hamper our culture of shared connection and celebration.

Many have asked us how they can help.  If you’ve already donated your time, money, or well wishes then we thank you for your action.  But, if you’re still looking for a way to support the fans directly impacted by this tragedy, please consider making a small donation to the Direct Impact Fund.

Our friends at Zappos have pledged to match donations to the Direct Impact Fund up to $1M. CrowdRise has eliminated all fees so 100% of all donations will go directly to those impacted by this tragedy.  You can find more information here.

“While we will try and move forward, we will never forget this day.  We will not let hate win over love.  We will not be defeated by senseless violence.  We will persevere, and honour the souls that were lost.” – Brian O’Connell, Live Nation’s President of Country Touring.
