cashless payment system, to enable faster transactions and smoother entry processes, so visitors have more time to enjoy the culinary creations offered. Guests are also able to load credits into their cashless account online prior to the event or on their smartphones, or they can visit a ‘Taste Crown Bank’ location on-site. New to the festival this year is the auto top-up feature, which enables patrons to automatically add cash to their card account when the balance falls below a pre-set minimum amount. Auto top-up ensures guests are able to experience the festival without any interruptions. When patrons are ready to try one of the restaurants or bars, visitors simply need to tap their Crown Card on an RFID reader at any point-of-sale terminal, and place their order. Their purchase will automatically be deducted off their account. No more fumbling for cash or dealing with paper and plastic tokens! Eric Janssen, Chief Revenue Officer of Intellitix said: “Following a great first year, we’re really excited to be back for the second Taste of Toronto. Taste Festivals are leading the way when it comes to embracing new technology and they are consistently working to enhance the experience of visitors. Cashless systems are perfect for food and drink festivals, as they speed up transaction times and reduce queues, allowing visitors to spend more time sampling well-crafted dishes and drinks.” Over 20,000 guests are expected to attend this year’s event, which features demonstrations from some of the world’s best chefs, Toronto’s best restaurants and upwards of 70 exhibitors. Taste festivals are all about creating a premium and seamless experience and the introduction of cashless payments has enabled visitors and vendors to spend less time processing transactions, and more time enjoying the opportunity to savour samples from some of Toronto’s finest restaurants. This year’s festival includes demonstrations at the Cadillac Taste Theatre, foodie chats at Toronto Life Chef’s Table, Metro Master Classes, a producer’s market and music performances at the Taste x WayHome Stage.]]>
